Problem

The data directory for Men and Mice Central contains the preferences.cfg (for fingerprint, additional settings, etc), the database file mmsuite.db (SQLite database used by default), and the update directory for automatic updates.

The location of this folder varies with operating system and the version of Men and Mice.

Solution

Old location

Before version 6.x of Men and Mice, the data directory was located in a "Data" sub-directory of where Men and Mice was installed. The location of the data directory is retained during upgrades, so it may still be located in that directory. By default it is:

C:\Program Files\Men and Mice\Central\Data\

or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Men and Mice\Central\Data\

New location

The new location is underneath a hidden folder that varies with version of Windows

Windows 2003

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Men and Mice\Central\

Windows 2008/2012//R2

C:\ProgramData\Men and Mice\Central

Linux

The data directory is located where Men and Mice Central was installed.
By default, Men and Mice Central is installed to

/var/mmsuite/mmcentral
